Countdown to BLOOM 2019!
Friday, March 8, 2019
Seven years ago Power 88.3 and A Beautiful Me partnered to address the needs associated with our developing teen girls as they discover their true beauty, self worth and to remind them at they matter.
On Friday, March 8th at 5:30 pm doors will open to a red carpet at McMorran Place Theater in downtown Port Huron for BLOOM 2019. This 7th annual high-energy evening will begin in the theater at 6:30pm.
At the end of the event, our hope is that the girls will leave understanding that what happens today is just a chapter, not your entire story and that there are people who will invest in them through deeper relationships. The evening includes lots of activities in the lobby that will lead to the event kick-off spoken word, dance, peer to peer stories, music and lots of prizes.
This year’s musical guests will be Caitie Hurst, a 23 year old Tennessee native who creates music that come from the journey’s she’s walked. The second guest will be a 3 x repeat artist of past BLOOM events, V. Rose from California, a pop and urban recording artist who shares a personal message of self -worth in her music. Both parents and youth continue to share positive comments after attending. A student wrote, “BLOOM lets girls learn that they are not alone because there are hundreds of girls alongside of them. BLOOM changes perspectives, changes your mood, and changes really everything in a positive and impactful way.”

"Power 88.3's BLOOM with A Beautiful Me is important to me because having this event can change young girls' lives, that's the way I look at it anyway. When girls step into this event, they feel safe, they feel calm, and they feel Jesus. This event lets girls learn important lessons. They learn that they are not alone because there are hundreds of girls alongside them. BLOOM changes perspectives, changes your mood, and changes really everything in a positive and impactful way."
"I want to say how much of an impact Bloom has been to me. The first time I went, I was in a bad relationship, and so I didn't really want to be at that event. When I was there, your topic really touched base on relationships, and when Moriah Peters talked of her experiences, it made me see how badly mine was affecting everyone I loved. That Easter was when I went back to God and got out of that relationship. This year I went with my mom and my sister again, and I enjoyed every minute of it. Hearing what God has to say on beauty, and about us, His creations, was amazing. You have touched so many lives through this event, and I am so happy that you touched mine. Thank you so much!"
